OUR INSECT CONTROL SERVICE

The name insect is derived from the Latin “insectum” meaning cut into sections i.e., their body are segmented.

  • Head
  • Thorax
  • Abdomen

Insects have the three pair of legs for running, walking, jumping or swimming. Many insects also have the one or two pairs of wings used for flying.

Larva
The Larva or Nymph will hatch out of an egg, depending on the type of insect. The larva may have the three pair of legs (e.g. Beetles) or none at all (e.g. Flies) The function of the larva is to eat and so this is the most damaging phase in the insects life cycle.
Pupa
The larvae at the final stage of larval development will seek a suitable site for pupation. The larva will form a protective case around it, which may be hard and shell-like (e.g. flies)or made from silk (e.g. Moths).
Nymph
The nymph will hatch from an egg and is a small version of the adult. The nymphs normally grow through several moults, when reaching full adulthood and sexual maturity.
